Institutional History

Established 1966

Trece Martires City National High School

Trece Martires City National High School traces its beginnings to July 6, 1966, when it first opened as Trece Martires City Junior High School. The school was established through the combined efforts of Governor Delfin N. Montano, local officials, and community leaders who envisioned providing better educational opportunities for the youth of the city. With no permanent site during its early years, the school shared facilities with Trece Martires City Elementary School under the supervision of Miss Diosdada Tiongco.
As the institution continued to grow, strong advocacy from committed educators-particularly Mr. Roman Salazar-paved the way for the establishment of a permanent campus. A major milestone came in 1983 when Parliamentary Bill 2641, signed by President Ferdinand Marcos, officially converted the school into Trece Martires City National High School with its own funding. That same year also marked the birth of the school library under the leadership of Mr. Roman Salazar and with Mrs. Rosario Buendia, the first school librarian, the library began serving as a vital support system for students' learning needs.
Through the guidance of successive principals, the school steadily expanded its facilities and student population. Annexes were later opened in Osorio, Cabezas, Cabuco, Sunshine, and Hugo Perez to accommodate the growing number of learners. Each year brought additional improvements-more teachers, more classrooms, and more resources to ensure quality education for the community.
By 2017, under the leadership of Dr. Famie C. Apay, Ed.D., the school had grown to more than 5,500 students and over 170 teachers, making it one of the largest secondary schools in the province of Cavite.

Today, Trece Martires City National High School stands as a strong and thriving institution. Built on the dedication of its leaders, teachers, parents, and the local government, it remains committed to delivering quality education and supporting the continuous growth and development of the youth of Trece Martires City.
